Problem
Why does a pillar candle bend?
Bending is the body slipping. Demolding early or soft Soya Wax 50 sags in a candlestick. Dripping is drops, a separate guide. Paraffin stays firm; cool it fully.
-
Do not put soft soy in a candlestick
Soya Wax 50 is for containers (~51–55°C). A freestanding body wants paraffin or a mold base.
-
Cool fully
Do not force the mold before 6–12 hours. A warm pull bends. Keep the room draft-free, upright.
-
Do not confuse it with dripping
If it drips when burning, that is the dripping guide. If the cold body warps, it is the base or early demolding. A stearic SKU test.
Storage
A candlestick lying in heat bends. An upright, cool shelf. Do not lean it in the sun.
Making
The pouring steps are in the how-to-make-a-pillar-candle article. This page is only about bending.
FAQs
Can a bent candle be fixed?
Light pressure while warm is risky; it breaks. A new pour is cheaper.
Does stearin stop bending?
It can firm up paraffin. The ratio is the SKU and a small test. Not blindly in soy.
