Gel
How to make gel candles?
Gel candles need a glass container; they do not mix with a soy/paraffin recipe. Melt slowly, warm the container, reduce bubbles, and do not exceed the temperature in the product note.
-
Prepare the glass container and wick
Use only heat-resistant glass. Fix the wick to the base and center it. Do not use plastic or thin glass.
-
Melt the gel wax slowly
Avoid direct high flame. Follow the melting band on the product page; stir until the gel is evenly clear.
-
Add the fragrance at a suitable temperature
Do not exceed the fragrance load recommended for gel. Adding it too cold causes clouding, adding it too hot loses scent.
-
Pour into the warmed glass and wait
Keep the container warm and pour slowly to reduce bubbles. Do not touch it until fully set at room temperature.
Gel ≠ soy
Gel candle is a mineral/gel base; you cannot mix it with Soya Wax 50 in the same pot to make clear soy. Keep the recipes separate. The container must be heat-resistant glass.
Bubbles and clouding
A damp container, cold glass and fast pouring leave bubbles. Slightly warm the container, melt the gel evenly and pour slowly. If fragrance and dye exceed the gel's carrying limit, cloudiness and sweating appear.
Wick and safety
In clear gel, flame behavior differs from container soy. Choose a wick suited to the diameter; watch the glass temperature during the burn test. Read the gel candle and glass container product notes in the catalog together.
FAQs
Can soy wax be mixed into gel candle?
In practical production, do not mix; clarity and burning are spoiled. Work with two separate recipes.
Can gel candle be poured into a silicone mold?
Gel is generally for glass containers. Silicone molds and high heat depend on gel/mold compatibility; do not try it without a product instruction.
