Problem
Why does my candle heat the glass?
Excess glass heat is a heavy or shifted wick. Soot is black smoke, a separate guide. Choosing glass is separate. Soya Wax 50 container, tip ~5 mm, no draft.
-
Center the wick
A shifted thread licks the wall and the glass heats. A holder. With a double wick, the edge allowance should be equal (spacing is separate).
-
Lower the size
A heavy size overflows the pool. One size thinner. Tip ~5 mm. A thin thread for a tealight.
-
Do not confuse it with soot
Black smoke is the soot guide. If the glass is hot but there is no smoke, it is the size/position. If the glass is cracked, choose a heat-resistant container (the container guide).
Draft
A side wind bends the flame onto the glass. Not by a window.
Soy
Soya Wax 50 is oily; the same diameter may need a heavier wick than paraffin. A burn test.
