Troubleshooting

Why is my candle smoking?

Smoking is the flame not burning completely: a long wick, a draft or hard blowing. Soot is black carbon; smoke can be gray-white. Trim the wick dry to ~5 mm. Soya Wax 50 fragrance ceiling ~8%.

~5 mm of dry upright tip. A long thread and a mushroomed carbon cause smoke. The mushrooming guide is separate.

  2. Cut off drafts

Windows and air conditioning bend the flame. A calm room. A heavy size makes soot; smoke is often a long tip.

  3. Fix how you put it out

Do not blow. Trimmer or lid. Exceeding oil saturation (Soya Wax 50 ~8%) also leaves smoke.
