Why do you need a candle thermometer?
Soya Wax 50 melts at ~51–55°C; judging by eye, a flame or too much heat drives off the fragrance. Read the thermometer in the double boiler. Paraffin SKU temperature is separate; the soy band is not copied. A scale holds the fragrance grams.
-
No flame
A direct stove burns the wax. Use a water bath. The thermometer tip goes in the wax, not on the pot bottom.
-
The soy band
Soya Wax 50 ~51–55°C. Take it off the heat, weigh the fragrance at 6–10% and stir. Ceiling ~8%.
-
Do not copy it to paraffin
Paraffin and gel SKU temperatures can be higher. Do not write the same 51–55°C. Wait 24 hours.
Scale
The thermometer is for heat. Fragrance and dye (~1%) are weighed in grams. They are two separate tools.

FAQs
Can you tell with a finger?
No. 51–55°C is a narrow band. A finger burns, or you pour cold.
An oven thermometer?
It should fit in the wax pot and have a food/liquid probe. An oven dial does not read wax.
